Size Education

Attention to detail

According to Catbird of New York City, a popular high-end jewelry store in Brooklyn, “Your ring should fit snugly on your finger; snug enough so it doesn’t fall out, but loose enough to slide over your knuckles with some resistance.”

The sizes of the rings follow a scale of numbers (and half numbers), which differ according to the country that produces them. For example, US rings typically range from ring size 3 to 13.5 for adults. Women’s rings are generally between 3 and 9 in size, while men’s rings usually have between 8 and 14. In Italy, on the other hand, rings start from size 6.5 up to 35. The woman usually wears a size 9/10 up to a 14 in the ring finger, while men wear from about 15 to 24 in the same finger with exceptions of even greater value. These units correspond to the width of each finger in millimeters. It is therefore necessary to obtain an exact size of the ring in order to best adapt it to the person who will wear it.

How to measure

You can take the size of your ring with the help of a jewel that you already have and that you know fits you well and a tape measure.

Place the tape measure on top of a horizontal shelf and make sure it lies flat. Then place the test ring over the tape measure and calculate the millimeters of circumference between the left and right sides. Once the mm has been established, rely on the table below to define the size of your ring based on the country of your origin.

For added security, send us a photo of your ring placed over a tape measure and we will determine the perfect size for your jewel.
